TV Suggestion: Homeland

January 9 By Iggy Leave a Comment

As often as I can, I want to suggest either a TV show or a movie that I think is worth taking the time to check out. I am a huge TV buff and love to watch movies in my spare time. I will pick something that I loved watching and give a few reasons why I think you might love it too. I am so busy these days that I find myself watching shows way past my bedtime just to keep up with all of the amazing TV out there these days.

I am always finding out about movies and TV shows that maybe I overlooked when they first aired and I go back and watch them to find that I was so wrong to overlook them. If you have any suggestions for me please leave me a comment, I am always looking for something good to watch, I also make time for some guilty pleasures too!

Ok so here it goes, suggestion number one…

Today I am recommending that you check out a new show called Homeland. I am starting with something simple that you may have already heard of or maybe even checked out. Only one season of Homeland has aired to date so it won’t be difficult to catch up on season one. Homeland is available from Amazon.com

There are 12 episodes and it is easy to watch them back-to-back. Homeland is about the CIA and an American Prisoner of War returning home as a potential terrorist threat to the USA. It is a complex show full of drama and will keep you on the edge of your seat.

The show stars Damian Lewis most well know for his portrayal of Maj. Winters in Band of Brothers, Claire Danes who recently won an Emmy for her work on Temple Grandin and one of my favorites Mandy Patinkin who we all know from Chicago Hope and Criminal Minds but I will come back to him for another one of my favorite shows.

Homeland airs on Showtime and you have until fall 2012 to catch up before season 2 begins airing. I don’t want to say too much about the actual content of this show because it is full of twists and turns and I don’t want to ruin anything. If you like a good, suspenseful drama then I definitely recommend that you check out Homeland. Once you check it out, come back and let me know what you think in the comments section!
