Don’t Let These Become Cancelled Shows

June 19 By Iggy 1 Comment

I live in fear of my favorite shows becoming cancelled shows. Here are my picks for five shows you need to watch so that they don’t become five cancelled shows.

Episodes

I wasn’t even sure that Episodes was going to come back for a second season but now that it has I am on a mission to get people watching! When I started season one I wasn’t too sure what I thought of the show but by the 2nd episode I was hooked. Although the humor can be dry, I think it is hilarious. The show is smart and witty and not afraid to make fun of Hollywood and I think Matt LeBlanc as Matt LeBlanc is the best career choice he has made since Friends. Please give this show a try, I’d really love to see it get a third season. Episodes is available from Amazon.com

Cougar Town

Cougar Town, much like Bill Lawrence’s other creation Scrubs, got lucky when it was cancelled this year. Funnily enough ABC who saved Scrubs from being cancelled the first time, has cancelled Cougar Town but luckily TBS has picked it up for a fourth season. When Cougar Town first started I didn’t think much of it but once it got its groove and figured out the kind of show it wanted to be I thought it turned into something really great. It is funny and charming and has a lot of the quirk that made Scrubs so much fun. I definitely recommend checking this out before we lose it for good. Cougar Town is available from Amazon.com

Parks & Recreation

This one is mostly based on my own fears, I know that it has been picked up for another season but I think that Parks & Recreation is more critically acclaimed than highly rated with viewers. I love this show, it is one of my favorite comedies ever but it hasn’t caught on the way it should. Most people I bring this show up to have never seen it, if you still watch The Office or if you ever were a fan of it then you should watch Parks & Rec because it’s better. This next season may be its last, every time it comes up for renewal I get worried but if I can help spread the word about how great it is and get more people watching then I may not have to worry next time. If nothing else, watch it for the amazingness that is Ron Swanson. Parks & Recreation is available from Amazon.com

Community

Community has been at risk since it started and now that it has been moved to Friday night for the new fall lineup I can’t help but think of it as the final nail in the Community coffin. I don’t know about you but I am not usually home on a Friday night sitting in front of my TV. Now that Dan Harmon is out as show runner that might also be the reason for the end, either way it is not looking good for the next season of Community, I am prepared for it to be the last but maybe if we all band together and stay home on Friday nights we can make things different. Community is available from Amazon.com

Louie

I love Louis C.K., as should you, he is hilarious. His comedy on FX is awkward and uncomfortable but it is very real and very funny. The show doesn’t rate that well compared to the other shows on FX and it seems to be an at risk show. It has had two seasons that aired quite far apart and I am holding out for the third season which I think is on its way but I think everyone should check this show out before it is too late. Definitely check out season one for the Ricky Gervais guest spot, Louis and Ricky together is gold. Louie is available from Amazon.com
